The two things occupying my thoughts right now: school and summer

Only three more days of classes and ten more days left of school. In that time, I have to get through my Chemistry labs, Chemistry problems, Physics labs, Physics exam, and finals in Chem, Bio, Physics, and Spanish. Yeesh. Plus, it doesn't help that I am so distracted lately.

I got an internship at the Science Center! I am so excited to be working there over the summer, I remember when I was younger and we would take field trips to the planetarium and exhibits and IMAX movie theater and I would be so happy. I'm just looking forward to being back home in general, with my parents and siblings and house and friends and family and library and parties and vacations and movies and the mall and community. I'm kind of sick of the girls here and the cattiness that goes on sometimes. A four month break away from them sounds really good right now.

The countdown begins! Or continues...

Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom

Actor Orlando Bloom and his girlfriend, Australian Victoria's Secret supermodel Miranda Kerr made their first appearance together at the AJC Australian Derby on Emirates Doncaster Day at the Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday in Sydney, Australia. She looked beautiful in her Collette Dinnigan dress and netted hat; I love the classic feeling of this candids.

Fashion Model: Sharpay Evans

Today's Fashion Model is Sharpay Evans, the villainess played by Ashley Tisdale in Disney's High School Musical movies. Now, I know this seems weird right after the minimalist Sofia Coppola, and I doubt I would wear any of Sharpay's outfits in real life, but I love the fun the costume designers had with her clothes. She was like a real-life Barbie doll. Sharpay favors bright colors, especially pink, sparkles, loud jewelry, and hair extensions.

For all my love of couture and high brow fashion, she reminds me not to take clothes too seriously and to have fun (this is the difference I find between her and Paris Hilton), and I love her for it! I hope to remember to bring out my inner Sharpay (clothes-wise) more often.

Water Lilies Trailer

There is no dialogue in this trailer for the French film Water Lilies, yet it has captivated me. I can't wait for it to release in the US!

Leighton Meester

I am so glad that Gossip Girl is coming back tomorrow, that show is amazing! One of the reasons for it's amazingness is my favorite character, Blair Waldorf, played to perfection by Ms. Leighton Meester. She was looking gorgeous in Missoni at the "New Year’s in April: A Fool’s FĂȘte" event in New York. Her make-up is flawless, as well.

Just a little poem as I slave away during finals.

The last days of school are full of longing,
of dreams and future plans belonging
to a distance near
But not quite here
I count and list and look outside
to see a field so vast and wide
I miss my family, town, and home
But through my notes I must comb
to secure an even further goal
One that weighs on my frightened soul
But right now I am in a daze
of sunlight, dew, and misty haze,
of Popsicles, sleepovers, and barbecues
of rest, play, and time to muse
A car, rest station, country tour
are what my restless heart yearns for
My stomach churns in anticipation
for the blissful days of first vacation

Fashion Model: Sofia Coppola

Due to my insane school schedule, I haven't really been able to update. But now I'm back, and with one of my favorite fashion icons of all time: Sofia Coppola. She is of course well known as the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, but has also sincerely made a name for herself directing films such as The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, and Lost in Translation, for which she won an Oscar. Sofia is consistently pointed out for her eye for style; she favors clean lines, flats, and neutral colors. Marc Jacobs sights her as one of his muses, and I do as well; I adore how she is usually in one of the most understated outfits in a room, yet stands out the most. Sofia is unfussy and eternally cool.

Late night soul sessions is what college is about, right?

I just took the most horrible Physics exam ever. But it's okay, I have no doubt I'll get a decent grade at the end of the semester. I really can't wait for next semester, though....just Biology and History classes sound like heaven right now.

Yesterday, my friends and I got to talking and they informed me that I am not a very openly emotional person, or I don't really display my feelings that often. I realize that it's true, I tend to keep things to myself and hold most people at a distance. It's so much easier for me to type here, to an anonymous audience, than anything else. But I'm happy I act this way. As was said about Jackie: "She knows when to hold herself back while everyone else you know gives too much of themselves at one time. So when she comes out, it's a great tour-de-force."

There is a movie being filmed on my college campus right now, Tenure, starring Luke Wilson and Gretchen Mol. I met Mr. Wilson yesterday, and he really is a sweet, down-to-earth guy. He was really approachable and laid back, and it's always so exciting to meet a celebrity! I can't wait to see my school on the big screen.

Kareena in Vogue

Kareena Kapoor was featured in last month's issue of Vogue India. Though I am not a big fan of her as an actress, I must admit, she looks beautiful in her editorial.

Dolce and Gabbana

Louis Vuitton

And I just wanted to end with the stunning cover of April's issue of Vogue Italia, featuring one of my favorite models, the luminous Natalia Vodianova.
